1. Navigate to Maintenance ➔ Menu ➔ Items
2. Create a subsection
According to Aloha SOP, select a new range of numbers for your new category.
In this instance, the 130000-140000 range is unused. We create item #130000 to denote the beginning of a new section.
3. Create new items
Remember to set the item's Sales/Retail Category, Price, and all three Names.
This image shows all new items in the list after the creation process.
Note the presence of each Zhi Tea variety; this enables the creation of our modifier group later.
4. Navigate to Maintenance ➔ Menu ➔ Modifier Groups
5. Create a new modifier group and add tea varieties
Name the modifier group, then navigate to the Layout tab. Click any empty box.
Click the Item dropdown, scroll to the 130000 range, and select a modifier.
Repeat until the modifier group is complete.
6. Navigate to Maintenance ➔ Menu ➔ Submenus
Time for the main event!
7. Populate Submenu
Name the submenu, then navigate to the Layout tab. Click any empty box.
Click the Item dropdown. Because we know our items are in the 130000 range, enter 13 to call up the relevant items.
Click the item you'd like in that button spot. It will appear there.
Repeat until all items have been added.
8. Navigate to Maintenance ➔ Menu ➔ Menus
This is where we add the submenu to the menus accessible by staff.
Select the menu you'd like to edit, then click an empty space as you did when creating the submenu.
Select the submenu you'd like in that spot, and you're done! Repeat as needed on other menus.
