Boardroom HDMI

SCH Boardroom HDMI and AppleTV

Under normal instances the HDMI port in the nearest to the tv outlets on the table are to be leveraged for Windows PC's.

Under normal instances AppleTV should be leveraged for Apple devices.

When you turn on the tv for AppleTV you may notice it says "no signal", This is to be expected. AppleTV's after 15 minutes go into hibernate mode. Connect the guest device to the boardroom wifi and choose the AppleTV under the display settings on the device. Be sure to be on Boardroom wifi or the guest will have a poor experience.

Please see the below pictures for some insight into what certain screens mean when using HDMI in the Boardroom.

The below picture shows how the back of the TV should look. If it does not match this picture, first let the onsite technician know and he/she will notify NW IT to address any issues.

Back of Boardroom

As you can see there are two HDMI cables, if they are unplugged at anytime guests will have a poor experience. If the HDMI is unplugged from the AppleTV guests will have a poor experience. Leave these cables as they are, there is never a reason a non-IT staff member should be changing these cables.

The picture below will show you the HDMI system when waiting for an HDMI source (laptop in most cases) to be plugged in to the table port.

Video Source

As you can see it says "please check video source" this means that the laptop is not plugged into the HDMI port on the table or the laptop is off. In some cases this can indicate the cable plugged into the HDMI port on the table is not in good condition or not fully plugged in.

In the picture below you will notice that it is saying the HDMI system is trying to sync up.

Linking

As you can see it says "HOLLYLAND Linking" this indicates that the device under the table and the device behind the TV wall are trying to sync up. In rare cases this will occur due to a signal issue between them but in most cases this means the power was turned off to the device under the table and needs to be plugged back in. All syncing will occur automatically between the two devices. There is no user interaction during this syncing process.

As you can see in the picture below this is the device under the table.

Device under table

As you can see it is on, and does not need user interaction. There is an on/off switch on the device. If it is off, turn it on. Otherwise do not touch this device without specific directions to do so. If we find this unplugged we will notify everyone and ask again to not touch it. Doing so will create a poor guest experience.

Under 99% of circumstances there should be no incentive for event staff to change up or adjust any of the equipment shown here. This is for education and understanding. Do not, under any circumstance, remove cabling or equipment without NW IT directing the action first.
